Espresso & Matcha's Saporous Expedition - Sydney Yayoi Gardens Espresso & Matcha

Last day in Sydney and we wanted to finish it with a BANG. So what better than Japanese for lunch. Doing a bit of research online, I found out about Yayoi Gardens, the sister store of my beloved Yayoi Teishoku from the Galleries. Making a reservation online, we walked all the way to the other end of the city to try it.

We were even lucky enough to get some ice cream from the Monday special!

Espresso & Matcha's Saporous Expedition - Sydney: Single O Surry Hills Espresso & Matcha

What does a girl like me do after having a bad coffee for breakfast? Obviously go out and find a better coffee to make me forget about the first one. At the behest of Iron Fist, there was no other place to find better coffee than to take a short detour off to Single O in Surry Hills, which has long been renown for its excellent coffee. Getting there before 10, the place was completely packed, and we had difficulty in getting a table.

Coffee beans lined the counter, and at the request of some friends, I got some to bring back to Brisbane.

Eating Out: Brisbane Vegan Markets October 2017 Kittens Gone Lentil

Another month, another two Brisbane Vegan Markets! October saw me attending both the morning and twilight markets.

The jacaranda trees were blossoming beautifully the day of the morning markets.

Jacaranda Tree

The days were starting to get hot, so I refreshed myself with a passionfruit juice from Pepper Pot Curries. I have heard that a lot of the food here is pretty spicy, so I have never eaten here. But I loved this drink.

One of the most exciting new stalls at the markets in October was Raijin, a Japanese stall that created an all vegan menu for the vegan markets. I ordered the Dry Ramen, which was delicious and savoury with some fabulous coated tofu on top. We also shared some gyoza. The good news is that Raijin now seems to offer there vegan menu at the regular weekly Boundary St Markets as well!

Tracee and Jamie shared some fish and chips from Happy Fish, a vegan fish and chips stall. Vegan fish and chips is not appealing to me at all, but they said it was good and lots of people love it, so if you are into that sort of thing it sounds like you will be pleased!
