The Platypus is enjoying something of a population boom around Queenslands Sunshine Coast following three years of above-average rainfall. It has been reported that the Queensland Freedom of Information Office (QFOI) and the States Police Force (QPS) are working together to prevent citizens from accessing their own personal data.
Restricting access to information
The Queensland Police Records and Information Management Exchange (QPrime) database stores a range of personal information about Queensland residents.

MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. The Australian authorities are seeking to "soft-pedal" the war crimes that the countrys troops committed in Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement on Friday.
"Its absolutely clear that the ruling establishment of the Green Continent is trying its best to soft-pedal the issue of the war crimes committed by Australian troops in Afghanistan, a topic it finds very uncomfortable. In any case, this seemed to be the underlying reason behind the activity - or, more precisely, the inactivity - of the previous liberal cabinet led by disgraced Prime Minister Scott Morrison, which included a no less notorious defense minister, Peter Dutton," the diplomat noted.
"Members of veteran organizations, media outlets and some political forces not affiliated with the current authorities have been pointing out that attempts to close the shameful Afghan files by putting all the blame on privates and sergeants from special operations forces were unacceptable. In particular, Senator Malcolm Roberts of the One Nation opposition party suggested during parliamentary hearings in May that Chief of the Australian Defense Force General Angus Campbell return the Distinguished Service Cross that he was awarded in 2012 as commander of the Australian troops in the Middle East," Zakharova went on to say.

Created on Country: performance meets symphony orchestra in tribute to Gurrumuls pivotal Djarimirri News - Fraser Coast FM 107.5
This week, a group of Indigenous musicians and dancers from a remote community in the Northern Territory will play music from Gurrumuls second last album with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
The group have travelled from the Galiwin ku community in the Northern Territory to perform their show Bugul for three nights in Melbourne.
Gurrumul Yunupingu is one of the most iconic First Nations artists in Australia, leaving a legacy of music and culture to be played for future generations.
Bugul was created on Country in North East Arnhem, and the performance is inspired in Gurrumuls Djarimirri.
Senior Yolu man, Donald Wininba Ganambarr is directing the Indigenous performers, and The Wires contributor from Ngaarda Media Conrad MacLean asked him about the project.
